Chemical peels use various solutions to activate acid removal of the upper layers of the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of scarring, improve pigmentation, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Different peels affect different layers of the skin, and I recommend gradually increasing the strength percentage - starting low - if you are new to this treatment.
There is often some degree of skin flaking afterwards which is very normal, but needs to be considered when planning your treatments.
Chemical peels can be combined with microneedling so that the product goes under the surface of the skin. This could be beneficial for hyperpigmentation and scarring.
